The Union hosted their annual Champion of Champions event at the Durbanville GC, with the winner of each Division winning a trip to the National event at Vaal de Grace GC later in the year.
KDM was well represented across all Divisions, with Jaden Visagie (A Div) shooting 79 and Cameron Johnston (A Div) shooting 69 respectively and both missing out by three shots.
KDM would like to thank Marianne Kiessig, Sydney Small, Matthew Powell and Jake Greenberg for participating and giving it their all. Next year will be our year!
KDM hosted the WP Closed tournament on Sunday 26 July, with Nic Thompson, from Westlake GC, powering his way to victory with scores of 74 and 65. KDM new member, Dan Copeman finished in 4th place with scores of 74 and 68.
KDM sent one teams of four to participate in the Annual Bradshaw Foursomes tournament at Atlantic Beach GC (format is 18 holes combined foursomes’ matchplay).
The team consisted of Renato Santo, Adam Johnston, Dan Copeman and Cameron Johnston.
Unfortunately, the team lost by one hole in the semi-finals to eventual winners Royal Cape. It was a bitter pill to swallow, as both pairs were up in their respective matches with only four holes to play. Congratulations to Royal Cape on their win.
In the recent Rondebosch Seniors tournament, Cameron Johnston won the Seniors Section with an even par round 72.
KDM League
Our Harry Solomon team unfortunately ran into a strong Clovelly team for the second year in a row (in the semi-finals) and narrowly lost 3 – 5. However, it gives me great pleasure to announce that our neighbours, Rondebosch GC beat Clovelly in the Final.
Please note that our First league, Third league and Super seniors will be starting on Saturday the 8th of August and Premier league on Sunday 9th of August on a neutral venue. Please members, prepare yourselves for busy afternoon tee sheets and know that we will always do our best to accommodate everyone.
