KDM Juniors Update: July 2026

Congratulations to Yaseen Dawood on being awarded Prentice membership, joining the KDMGC family for outstanding achievements. We also welcome 7 new students to the development group bringing our numbers to almost 70 registered development students.

The school holidays had many stellar performances during the Prentice competitions. We held 5 events for the juniors. Daniel Roos, Mathew Powell and Mbali Mgodeli continue to impress with low rounds. Sydney Small, Nathan Tuffin, Shai Makgoba, Zach Parsons, Elijah Mdingi, Mia Wyngaard and William Bryant all won prizes too. Well done to all who took the challenge, putting their skills to the test.

WP Junior competitions were held during the holidays and although not many of our juniors took part we hopefully can encourage more youngsters to enter these events in the future. Entry fees and playing these top rated courses is an expense many cannot afford. Our generous supporters and the KD Trust make it possible for students to play in these prestigious events. Most of our young members however simply prefer to play 9 with their mates at KDM and take it easy. High school is taxing, and many of our juniors relax and unwind on our fairways after school enjoying each other’s company as the sun sets.

Our new shirts and caps are on their way and next month should see us looking even smarter in our new uniforms.Thanks again to the generous support of the Board and The Trust. We are indeed Blessed. Best of luck and success to all our juniors taking part in the Prentice Memorial being played at KDM on Sunday 2nd August. Now let us have a KDMGC trophy winner.
